Strata Collection by Filipa Oliveira
Scotland based Portuguese jeweller Filipa Oliveira started studying jewellery in her home country at Cindor. Her curiosity for design led her to study at Djcad.

She is enchanted by filigree, a traditional technique from her home country, that she innovate in both her first 2 collections, Black Preciousness and Golden Honey. The collections transmitted technical heritage and incorporated both the past and present in each piece of jewellery.

Strata is her new luxury collection, is inspired by crystal structures and their organic growth. By using developmental techniques the resulting strong shapes are balanced with wonderfully tactile, finely textured surfaces and feature a sprinkling of 'hidden' gemstones, whose delicate detail delights the eye and adds opulence to the pieces

Editor’s notes
The Strata collection features a convolution of textures and surfaces. Filipa incorporates such detailed structures into her intricate pieces that are rarely seen in works of jewellery. Her contemporary vision seems to defy the norm and creates visually fascinating items.

Combining both visual and touch elements in her design, she succeeds in creating a sophisticated yet whimsical collection. The pieces seem to almost have a coherent connection with nature which reinforce her use of irregular texture. The detail is further enhanced with a sprinkle of gemstones embedded within some of this unique collection.
